Mobile Internet Suspended in J&K’s Poonch and Rajouri Districts amid Anti Terror Operations

Jammu and Kashmir: Mobile internet services were abruptly suspended in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch and Rajouri districts following a series of events culminating in a fatal encounter that claimed multiple lives. The suspension came in the aftermath of an ambush on two Army vehicles that resulted in the tragic deaths of five soldiers.

The incident, which unfolded near Topa Pir in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, saw militants launching a targeted attack on Army personnel traveling in a Gypsy and a mini-truck. The assailants, suspected to have orchestrated an ambush, engaged the vehicles, leading to the loss of four Army soldiers.

Following the attack, reports surfaced regarding the mysterious deaths of three individuals near the encounter site. Allegedly, these individuals were among several detained for questioning in connection to the terror assault. Their demise sparked concerns and led to widespread protests in the region.

Authorities, including senior civil, police, and Army officers, swiftly responded to the situation. The Poonch Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police, and the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu were among those actively investigating the matter on the ground.

A comprehensive search operation, involving high-ranking military and police officials, was initiated in the dense forests surrounding the area to locate the assailants responsible for the attack. The National Investigation Agency also deployed a team to probe the ambush site.

The suspension of mobile internet services in Poonch and Rajouri districts was deemed a precautionary measure to curtail the spread of rumors and maintain law and order amid escalating tensions. Additional security forces were deployed in sensitive areas to ensure peace and stability.

Meanwhile, the tragic deaths of three individuals detained for questioning have added complexity to the situation. The circumstances surrounding their demise, identified as Safeer Hussain, Mohd Showket, and Shabir Ahmad from Topa Peer village of Bufliaz, remain shrouded in mystery as investigations continue.

The developments in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch and Rajouri districts have drawn significant attention, prompting high-level officials to intensify efforts to address the situation and restore calm in the region.
